It was learned from related deportment that The Office of Chinese Language Council International approved Gannan Normal University to set up Confucius Institute in Sierra Leone. This is the fifth Confucius Institute founded abroad by universities in Jiangxi.

Sierra Leone University is located in Freetown, the capital of The Republic of Sierra Leone, and it is a famous university in West Africa. At present, selection and training work for teachers to Sierra Leone are in process in Gannan Normal University. The official opening ceremony will be held in Sierra Leone University in August this year.
